One Tweet Just Got An NBA Player And His Coach Sacked

The power of social media can be both positive and negative - just ask now-former Phoenix Sun Eric Bledsoe.

The 27-year-old point guard took to Twitter on Sunday evening (US time) to vent his frustration at his teams start to the season, following their third straight defeat.

"I Dont (sic) wanna be here", Bledsoe told his 215,000 Twitter followers.

And who could blame him; the Suns started the season with three straight defeats, including a 48-point season opening defeat to the Portland Trailblazers.

Be it the extremely poor start to the season or Bledsoe's tweet - or a combination of both - the Suns sacked head coach Earl Watson on Sunday night, only hours after the tweet.

But Watson's head wasn't the only to roll, with Phoenix general manager Ryan McDonough saying Bledsoe was sent home and asked not to partake in their game against Sacramento today.

Bledsoe then reportedly tried to save face by claiming the tweet was about a disappointing trip to a hair salon (yes, really), surprisingly enough that excuse did not sit well with the Suns hierarchy.

“He said he was at a hair salon,” McDonough said. 

“It wasn’t about the Suns or anything related to the Suns. He said he was at a hair salon with his girl and that he didn’t wanna be there anymore.

“I don’t believe that to be true. 

“He won’t be with us going forward.”

ESPN is reporting Bledsoe will find his way onto another NBA teams list, with the New York Knicks reportedly interested in his on-court services.

They're probably less interested in his social media usage though.
