A 15-year-old has been headbutted at a while umpiring a local junior cricket game in Melbourne’s west over the weekend.

The boy was umpiring an under-11s game between Sunshine and Caroline Springs on Friday night when he was allegedly headbutted by a spectator.

The teenager was apparently attacked after he told a group of adult spectators that they weren’t allowed to drink at the junior games.

Caroline Springs Cricket Club president Steve Collins addressed the incident in a Facebook post.
