Australian leg spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington is playing in her first Test, and showed today why she’s so highly rated by cricket fans.

On a flat pitch at North Sydney Oval and with the England bats well on top, she delivered a near unplayable delivery that’s being compared to Shane Warne’s famous Gatting ball from the 1993 Ashes.

The ball floats up then dips viciously before pitching on leg stump, then turns sharply past Tammy Beaumont’s defensive prod before slamming into the top of off stump.

Compare that to Warnie’s Gatting Ball:

Warnie’s one comes from wider and turns more sharply, but the comparison is fair.

The women’s Ashes Test is looking likely to be a draw, with England 2/94 after 50 overs on the final day.

They need to make 168 to make Australia bat again.
