Andrew Tye Just Took The First Hat-Trick Of This Big Bash Season

Perth Scorchers quick Andrew Tye just took the first hat trick of this Big Bash Season.

Tye got Sean Abbott out caught after a heave across the line saw a top edge go to Mitchell Johnson at point.

He then got got Steve O’Keefe with another top edge, this time one that went to Jye Richardson at deep square leg.

Tye’s hat-trick was complete when he got Daniel Sams with a full delivery that nipped back and hit him in in front of middle leg.

Remarkably, it’s Tye’s third hat-trick of the year — he took one for the Scorchers against Brisbane Heat in the BBL in January and then another on IPL debut for Gujarat Lions in April.

It’s also just the third hat-trick ever taken in the BBL, with Tye accounting for two of them.

Xavier Doherty is the other man to take a Big Bash hat-trick, against Sydney Thunder in 2012/13.
