Australia has confirmed they will make one change for the fifth and final Ashes Test.

Mitchell Starc has been confirmed to make his return, replacing Jackson Bird in the XI.

Starc was withdrawn from the Boxing Day Test thanks to a bruised heel, but has proved his fitness in time for the final Test.

Bird has made way after failing to capitalise on his first Test of the summer, taking 0/108 at the MCG.

The Aussies have opted against picking Ashton Agar and will go in with Nathan Lyon as solitary spinner once again.

England has also made a change, confirming Mason Crane will make his debut for the injured Chris Woakes.

It is a return to the SCG for Crane, who played for New South Wales last summer in the Sheffield Shield.

Agar, Bird and Peter Handscomb will all be released to their respective BBL sides.

Australia's side for the fifth Test:

David Warner, Cameron Bancroft, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith (c), Shaun Marsh, Mitchell Marsh, Tim Paine (wk), Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood
