Brad Hogg’s incredible cricket career will continue for another summer at least after confirmation that the 46-year-old will play for the Melbourne Renegades in the upcoming season’s Big Bash League.

Hogg, who will turn 47 two days after the final is played, has re-signed with the Etihad Stadium outfit after joining them last season.

The former Test player previously played for five seasons with the Perth Scorchers in the domestic Twenty20 competition.

"Look out Melbourne, I’m coming back," Hogg said.

"I had such a good time during the last BBL season and the fire to compete is burning strongly. I can’t wait to get back into the sporting cauldron in Melbourne again."

Hogg was one of the Renegades' best bowlers last season, taking eight wickets from eight matches at an economy rate of 7.21 per over.

The leg-spinner has earned a reputation as one of the best bowlers in the shortest form of the game, with 133 scalps at an average of 24.31 and an economy rate of 6.83 from 133 outings.
