South Australian batsman Callum Ferguson has blasted his way into England's 50-over competition with a whopping knock on debut.

Ferguson, playing for Worcestershire, smashed a huge 192 off 143 balls, helping his side defeated Leicestershire by six wickets.

Leicestershire posted a first innings total of 4/376 - their biggest innings ever, too, and helped by a 70 off 49 from Aussie Mark Cosgrove - but Ferguson and teammates made mincemeat of it.

Replacing Travis Head, who has been called up to the Australian side, Ferguson monstered theĀ opposition with five sixes and 21 fours in his knock.

He was dismissed seven runs short of the target, but his knock was enough to see his side win with 16 balls to spare.

It's Ferguson's highest ever List A score and the highest ever score in a List A game by a Worcestershire player, topping the record previously held by fellow Aussie Tom Moody.

"I was just really grateful to get the opportunity to play here. To play domestic cricket over here was something I was really excited to get the chance to do," he said post-match.

"To be able to get off on the right foot and make some runs is really exciting. It is certainly better than nought on debut.

"I had a few nerves coming into the game and was really pleased to be able to make an impact and hopefully we can keep the ball rolling in the next few games."
