Chris Lynn has left the door open for a miraculous return to the Big Bash League.

If the Brisbane Heat can make the BBL06 final.

Lynn has been battling what was originally thought to be a shoulder injury throughout the cricket season, which hadn't hindered his explosive BBL campaign, or prevented him from being called up for an ODI debut.

But doctors discovered the injury was more severe.

"I've had a bulging disc in my neck for the past five weeks, but I only had a scan last week (and) found out it was pushing against the nerve," Lynn told Triple M.

"I actually thought it was in my shoulder but it’s the pain from the disc. It's not ideal."

Lynn has been ruled out of cricket for "three or four weeks", which has ended his involvement in the ODI series.

But is his BBL season over? Not just yet.

"The surgeon said about three or four weeks (out of the game). But, look, if the Heat make the final, I'm going to say there's a small percentage chance I'll be able to play," Lynn said.

"It's a small percentage, but it's better than none I guess."
