West Indian star Darren Sammy has pulled off a miraculous match-winning innings in the Pakistan Super League...on one leg.

Sammy injured himself bowling in the first innings for Peshawar Zalmi, but still came out to bat late in the second innings with his team in a tricky situation.

They needed 17 off nine balls, not an easy feat in a low-scoring competition.

Especially given how sore Sammy was: he came in at the non-striker's end and genuinely hopped all the way down the pitch to complete a single with teammate Khalid Usman.

What followed was one of the more heroic finishes in a cricket match.

Sammy clubbed a straight six down the ground first ball, clearing the fielder's head at mid on.

The first ball of the next over was another single from Khalid, forcing Sammy to struggle down the pitch one more time, his team needing nine off five.

Next ball? Pulled over square leg for another six.

Two balls later? Sammy clubbed one past mid off for a match-winning four, giving his team the win.

"I just needed to hit three sixes, that's what I told the coach. Even if you hobble it's okay, just get a six," he said post-match.

"It's a great feeling to make the team win. Games against Quetta have always been classics.

"I'm going to go for an MRI scan tonight, and I think my knee has given way. I'm not sure yet, so hopefully I can take part in PSL 2018. We'll see what the scan shows.

"Experience definitely helps. I told myself: just two big hits and we could win. I believed myself, and it came off."
