Davey Warner has gone troppo again at the SCG, mauling the Pakistani attack for the second time in the test match.

The 30-year-old opener made 55 off just 27 balls, hitting eight fours and three sixes on his way to the second fastest fifty in test cricket history.

With Mohammed Amir injured, Pakistan gambled by opening the bowling with spinner Yasir Shah and it’s fair to say it didn’t come off.

Warner hit Shah for three fours and three sixes, with the Pakistani’s bowling figures copping a pounding — he has 0/38 off his first three overs of the match.

The little blaster’s remarkable fifty has further strengthened Australia’s already strong hold on the game.

The Aussies knocked over Pakistan for 315 midway through the elongated afternoon session, putting them 223 behind on the first innings.

It could have been worse for Pakistan without Younus Khan’s incredible unbeaten 175.

Australia are currently 1/73 in the tenth over, a lead of 297 with over a day to play.
