Farewell Dougy

Aussie cult hero Doug “The Rug” Bollinger has called time on his cricket career.

Bollinger played 12 Tests for Australia for 50 wickets between 2009 and 2010.

He captured the attention of the public with his whole-hearted effort and the fact that he was openly running hair plugs.

As well as his Test figures, Dougy took 62 wickets at an average of 23.90 for the ODI side, and nine wickets in T20 internationals.

Despite all that, arguably his finest moment was when he accidentally kissed the VB badge on the Aussie shirt when trying to kiss the crest.

At 36, Bollinger has struggled to crack the NSW side this season and only featured twice for the Sydney Sixers in the BBL.
