England quick Craig Overton has continued bowling with a cracked rib, according to ESPNcricinfo.

Overton was under an injury cloud at the end of day two after hurting his rib diving to take a return catch early in Australia's first innings.

After going for scans this morning, ESPNcricinfo has reported the injury is actually a cracked rib.

Overton was hit in the same area by a short ball from Pat Cummins while batting during the second Test.

He had to pass a fitness test on the morning of day three, reportedly taking some painkillers to return to action.

The 23-year-old bowled just the 10 overs on day one, taking the key wickets of David Warner and Usman Khawaja.

As at tea on day three he is still England's leading wicket taker for the match, with Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali the only others doing any damage.

He has bowled another 10 overs on day three, totalling none for 41.
