Geelong has handed out numbers to the new crop of Cats, including the long-awaited new number for Gary Ablett.

Ablett has been handed the number four previously held by triple premiership defender Andrew Mackie, and made famous by premiership player and coach Bob Davis and Brownlow Medallist Alistair Lord.

Ablett wore 29 in his first 192-game stint at the Cats. That number is now worn by Cam Guthrie.

Former Bomber and Bulldog Stewart Crameri was handed the 36 vacated by Tom Ruggles, while Darcy Lang’s 11 was given to draftee Tim Kelly.

Lachie Fogarty took Tom Lonergan’s 13, while Gryan Miers took the 32 guernsey left vacant by Steven Motlop and most famously worn by Garry Hocking.

Charlie Constable has been handed the 18 jumper left by Josh Cowan that was once worn by club legend Reg Hickey.
