Last week, we brought you the story of Glenn Maxwell making 72 for Fitzroy-Doncaster Cricket Club against Kingston Hawthorn in Victorian Premier Cricket.

Today he played in the second week of the match and was no less dominant — with bat or ball.

Maxwell bowled first change and took 4/48 off his 20.4 overs, with seven maidens amongst his sets.

The 28-year-old’s bowling set up a 175 run chase for Fitzroy-Doncaster, which they managed to get in just 19.3 overs.

Maxwell was again influential in the chase, opening the batting and melting 79 off just 51 balls.

He hit four fours and five sixes in his knock, and was involved in stands of 69 with the other opener Nat Vardi and 67 with Jack Rudd for the second wicket.

It might not get him near the test side, but it’s nice to see Maxi making runs.
