No ODIs? No Sheffield Shield?

No worries.

Glenn Maxwell turned out once again for Fitzroy Doncaster in the Victorian Premier Cricket comp after being snubbed from Australia's ODI series.

It was another classic Maxwell cameo.

His three overs with the ball against Kingston Hawthorn were relatively unsuccessful, being carted for 22, including five wides.

Maxwell even tried bowling seamers at one point, seemingly.

Apparently he missed the pitch with one, as he said on Fitzroy Doncaster's Facebook page.

But he did his damage with the bat.

Maxwell was picked to bat at first drop and came in fairly early, with opener Timothy Sheehan falling for five.

He teamed up with Jack Rudd and combined for a 128-run partnership, of which Maxwell made 72.

His runs came fast, off just 64 balls, and contained six fours and four sixes.

It was a blistering knock, as we've come to expect from the controversial Victorian, and it was enough to see Fitzroy Doncaster past Kingston Hawthorn's first innings score of 136 before being trapped leg before wicket.

Maxwell was told to score some runs - this certainly helps.
