James Pattinson might be fighting his way back into Australian colours via a spot in the middle order, the way he's going.

His bowling has normally earned all the plaudits but more recently his form with the willow has stolen all the headlines.

And guess what? He's done it again.

Pattinson walked to the crease in tricky circumstances on Saturday, with Dandenong 3/41 against Melbourne in the Victorian Premier Cricket competition.

When he finally left the crease, there was nothing tricky about where they were.

Against a Melbourne side featuring Victorian quick Jackson Coleman, Seb Gotch, Sam Harper and Will Pucovski, Pattinson hit his way to 131.

As opposed to his last century - a 137 in a Twenty20 against Ringwood in November - this one was more tame.

His 131 came off 200 balls, featuring 19 boundaries.

It only came to an end thanks to Gotch, bowling his part timers, as he was caught on the fence.
