Jimmy Anderson moved into fifth on all the time Test wicket-taking list when he took his 520th wicket today.

Anderson moved past West Indian great Courtney Walsh when he bowled Tim Paine.

Paine tried to pull one that stuck in the pitch and slowed up, meaning he was through the shot and inside edged the ball on to leg stump.

Anderson has taken his wickets at an average of 27.37 in 132 matches at a strike rate of 56.

He sits just 43 wickets behind Glenn McGrath in fourth, but probably can’t catch Indian leggie Anil Kumble in third — Kumble has 619 poles.

Shane Warne is in second with 708, while Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan leads all comers with an eye watering 800 Test wickets at 22.72.
