Brisbane Heat batsman Joe Burns may miss the rest of this season’s Big Bash League.

Burns fell awkwardly in training yesterday and injured his groin.

Scans today revealed that he has a torn adductor tendon.

Heat physio Martin Love could not set a return date for Burns, but said he was unlikely to return for the duration of the Big Bash.

“The medical and high performance staff will consult on a recovery schedule for him as soon possible and we will put the usual rehabilitation plans in place around that,’’ Love said.

Burns has been replaced in the Heat squad by Cameron Gannon.
