David Warner has become the first player to lose a sponsor over the ball tampering scandal, with LG confirming they will not renew his contract.

Fairfax Media reported the company, which has used Warner to advertise its OLED TV, has decided not to renew their contract "in light of recent events".

"LG’s current sponsorship of David Warner is in the final weeks, and in light of recent events we have decided not to renew our partnership," the company told Fairfax Media in a statement.

"LG Australia will always look to work with ambassadors that share our core brand values and we take these relationships incredibly seriously to ensure we put our customers, employees and stakeholders first."

Steve Smith may also face the same fate with Weet-Bix removing him from their website.

Sanitarium, who own Weet-Bix, say they will make a decision pending Cricket Australia's investigation.

"We are interested in the detail of their investigation and the actions Cricket Australia will take on this matter," Sanitarium said on Tuesday.

"Like the rest of Australia, we have been incredibly disappointed by the actions taken by the team over the weekend in South Africa."
