Matt Renshaw will miss the remainder of the Sydney Test after being withdrawn by Cricket Australia as a precaution following being hit on the head while fielding close in yesterday.

A Cricket Australia statement released this morning said:

"Matthew Renshaw was struck on the helmet fielding close-in on Thursday afternoon and came off complaining of a headache.

"He rested in the dressing room and then, when we returned to the hotel, we performed concussion tests and his cognitive, balance, co-ordination and reaction times were all within normal limits.

"However, on Friday morning he was still symptomatic and so we have taken the decision to withdraw him from the match as he is suffering from conussion.

"We will continue to monitor him over the coming days and work with him to produce a gradual return to play."

Triple M's Neroli Meadows broke the news about Renshaw who top scored in the first innings with 184, as play was delayed at the start of day four at the SCG with Pakistan 8/271 in reply to Australia's 8/538 declared.

Tune in to Triple M for the latest updates on play as the Aussies push for a win that would see them whitewash Pakistan as Triple M Rocks Test Cricket.
