Queensland (and erstwhile Australia) opener Matt Renshaw has just tonned up in the Sheffield Shield game against Victoria at the MCG.
Renshaw was dumped from the Australian side ahead of this summer’s Ashes series, and had struggled for runs in the Shield.
But today he blew form concerns out of the water, dominating a strong Victorian attack on their home deck.
Renshaw has raced to 117 off just 156 balls, with six fours and four sixes.
Victorian leg spinner Fawad Ahmed has come in for the harshest treatment, going for 57 off his 12 overs so far.
Renshaw was replaced in the Australian Ashes side by Western Australian Cameron Bancroft, who averaged 25.57 from his eight innings in the series.
