Mitchell Johnson has a famously chequered Ashes history.

He struggled in his first two Ashes series, unable to control his line and leaking runs.

England’s Barmy Army fan group sang a song about Johnson’s wayward Ashes spells, saying that he bowls to the left and to the right and calling his bowling “shite”.

The song got in Johnson’s head during the series he struggled in, but he has now revealed that by the time the 2013/14 Ashes came around, he’d developed a strategy to deal with it.

Speaking to the BBC about the 13/14 whitewash Ashes, Johnson said he took inspiration from his daughter.

"You know the song is coming," he said.

"So I just sang Frozen in my head! A happy song. Let It Go…"

An image at odds with Johnson’s fearsome bowling and handlebar moustache perhaps, but it clearly worked for him — he wrecked England and claimed 37 wickets on his way to a man of the series gong.

You could say he was seriously letting them go.
