Batting all-rounder Hilton Cartwright will make his ODI debut against India on Sunday.

Cartwright will likely partner David Warner at the top of the order in the first of five ODIs.

It follows the absence of Aaron Finch, who was withdrawn from consideration due to a calf injury.

Travis Head will likely bat at four, which skipper Steve Smith hinted at on Saturday.

Australia confirmed Cartwright had been handed ODI cap no.221 before the toss.

The 25-year-old has played two Tests for Australia, including their most recent against Bangladesh.

He has played 27 List A matches in his career, averaging 26.50 with the bat and taking 12 wickets.
