Paceman Pat Cummins will miss today’s fifth and final One Day International against England at Perth’s Optus Stadium.

Cummins felt a slight hamstring twinge during his man of the match performance in the Aussies’ win at Adelaide Oval on Australia Day.

He finished with figures of 4/24 after combining with Josh Hazlewood to reduce the Poms to the remarkable score of 5/8.

Cummins’ injury is not thought to be severe, but the Aussies are putting him on cotton wool ahead of the Test series in South Africa in March.

Mitch Starc — rested in Adelaide — will likely return to the side.

Andrew Tye and Jhye Richardson are the other quicks in the Aussie squad.

The Aussies will also be missing opening batsman Aaron Finch who scored two tons from his three innings in the series and has not recovered from his own hamstring injury.

Play at Perth is set to start at 2:20pm AEDT.
