Young Queensland batsman Matt Renshaw has a lot of fans amongst Aussie cricket lovers, and his dropping from the Test side ahead of last summer’s Ashes got a lot of people angry.

Renshaw has been in form in the Sheffield Shield after Christmas, with tons in each of his last three matches.

His form combined with replacement Cam Bancroft’s struggles (he averages 27.18 from his seven Tests) has inspired some people in Melbourne to start the “Bring back Renshaw movement”.

The plan is to gather on Saturday 31 March at 1:35pm at the Information Centre at Federation Square.

At the time of publication, over a thousand people are planning on going according to the Facebook event.

What they actually intend to do at once at Federation Square isn’t clear, with the only details on the event a small blurb that reads "Enough is enough, time to bring back Australia’s greatest young batsman”.
