Renegades skipper Brad Hodge may not play another game this season after being hit with appendicitis.

Hodge has been removed from the squad to take on the Sydney Thunder on Wednesday night.

The Renegades released a statement on Wednesday saying Hodge may not feature again.

"The batsman is suffering from appendicitis and his ability to feature again in the tournament is in doubt," they wrote.

Hodge has scored 68 runs at an average of 34.00 this season after crossing from the Adelaide Strikers.

Marcus Harris has come in to the 13-man squad to replace the 43-year-old.

After scoring a 50 in the opening game, Harris's form has wavered, averaging 21.62 with the bat at the top of the order this season.
