Ricky Ponting has reportedly signed a multi-year deal to steer Channel 7's cricket coverage.
News Corp has reported Ponting will sign with Channel 7, opting for a commentary career before coaching.
Ponting will likely broadcast both Test cricket and Big Bash League, with both to be broadcast by the network.
It has been reported by cricket.com.au that Ponting's deal will likely not impact his coaching role for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.
He has also worked closely as an assistant with Australia's T20 team.
Channel 7 grabbed the rights to broadcast cricket in April, alongside Fox Sports, signing a six-year, $1.2 billion deal.
His Big Bash League co-commentator Adam Gilchrist has signed with Fox Sports.
