Gun Adelaide Crows on-baller Rory Sloane will be given right up to team selection on Wednesday night to prove his fitness for their qualifying final clash against GWS.

Sloane was admitted to hospital last week with appendicitis and had to have his appendix removed, similar to Eddie Betts' situation earlier this season.

Sloane was restricted to the exercise bike at training this morning, but assistant coach David Teague said Sloane will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness.

"Wednesday will probably the day a decision will be made.

"He trained away from the main group today and we'll get some feedback on how he went," Teague said.

"I'm not sure when we have to put a team in, but we'll give him every chance.

"We all know Rory and how tough he is and if he can play, I've got no doubt he'll put his hand up."

Despite the midfielders willingness to play through pain, Teague said Sloane would still ultimately have to be given a clearance by the Crows medical staff.

"Rory's health is our priority," Teague said.

"Once he gets that tick, then it's up to Rory to make sure he's ready to go and play his role for the side."
