The recent ball tampering controversy engulfing Australian cricket has caused a lot of heartache for Aussies.

But for other cricketing fans around the world, it’s become an opportunity for banter.

Kiwi batsman Ross Taylor has leaned into it in their Test against England at Christchurch, signing a piece of sandpaper presented to him by the crowd.

Sandpaper of course was the implement used by the Aussies to change the condition of the ball against South Africa at Cape Town, leading to Steve Smith, David Warner and Cam Bancroft being banned and coach Darren Lehmann resigning.
