The Perth Scorchers are set for a shock boost for the BBL06 final against the Sydney Sixers, with star quick Jason Behrendorff named in the 13-man squad.

Behrendorff has battled a stress fracture in his left fibula all season, but was cleared to bowl on Thursday.

He has returned so strongly the Scorchers have named him, despite a lack of match fitness.

Coach Justin Langer said on Thursday Behrendorff was in contention.

"Jason Behrendorff will be considered as well which is really exciting for us,” Langer said.

"He’s been one of our best T20 bowlers and he’s one of the best in Australia.

“It’s a huge risk, there’s no doubt about it...He hasn’t played for a while but I’d back him any day of the week."

Behrendorff has taken 45 wickets in the BBL at an average of 19.02, including a best of 4/22 against the Strikers in December 2014.

Batsman Cameron Bancroft has also come into the squad, with Shaun Marsh and Cameron Valente dropping out.

Bowler Henry Thornton has come in for the Sixers, replacing Colin Munro, who is on international duties with New Zealand.
