Sydney Thunder all-rounder Arjun Nair won't be able to bowl for three months after being suspended for a suspect bowling action.

Nair was reported by umpires on December 30 following the Thunder's clash with the Hurricanes, and underwent testing on January 4.

The test found that Nair was bowling with a different action to the one used against the Hurricanes, which has seen him banned for 90 days under Cricket Australia protocol.

Nair has been picked to play against the Stars on Saturday night as a batsman, and won't be able to bowl until his action is cleared.

Sydney Thunder general manager Lee Germon said the club will back in the 19-year-old.

“Arjun is a talented and popular member of our club,” he told Cricket Australia’s website.

“We believe he will have a long and successful career with Sydney Thunder and shall support him through this process.”

Nair has taken nine wickets at 22.77 and scored 66 runs at 22.00 for the Thunder this season.
