Cricket media has been buzzing today following the allegations that England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow headbutted Australia's Cam Bancroft in Perth.

While out in the middle, batsman Dave Warner referenced the incident as captured by stump audio - leading to Triple M's Neroli Meadows breaking the story on Fox Sports.

But since the conclusion of the First Ashes Test at the Gabba, both parties have addressed the headbutt.

Bairstow told reporters that the entire situation was a non-issue, saying that "there was no intent or no malice."

"As you could see out there today, there's no animosity between myself, Cameron or any other of the other Australian players," Bairstow said.

Bancroft has since agreed with Bairstow's stance - telling reporters that the whole thing was just a misunderstood joke.
