Usman Khawaja Responds To Criticism From Shane Warne

Aussie top order batsman Usman Khawaja has responded to criticism from Shane Warne about his shot selection.
Warney rejected Khawaja’s argument that younger players train for unorthodox shots, calling out the refrain of “that’s the way I play” as “a cop out” and an “excuse”.
Khawaja responded to Warne’s comments on Triple M Adelaide today.

“I don’t totally disagree with what Warney says there either,” Khawaja said.
“It wasn’t a thing when I was coming out, I wasn’t trying to pick a fight or anything, I was just trying to give a different point of view.
“I respect everyone’s opinions, obviously Warney’s one of the great players of the game… I’m quite happy with how the conversation’s gone.”
Khawaja also discussed his place in the Australian side, saying that he’ll bat anywhere.
