The Stars have pipped the Renegades in a count back thanks to a ridiculous super over at the MCG.

Chasing a target of 119, the Renegades struggled to keep up with the run rate late in the innings, and ended up needing seven runs to win off the last ball.

A six would leave the game tied, though, and take the game to a super over, so that's exactly what Renegades skipper Amy Satterthwaite did, launching it over mid wicket for six.

It took the game to a super over, in which the Renegades batted first.

Claire Koski hit the first ball of Erin Osborne's over for four before the Stars took a team hat trick, with Alana King taking two catches at long on before causing a run out immediately after.

The Stars were in front until Osborne bowled a no ball on the last ball, giving the Renegades another chance.

The free hit went for two and almost went for more, with Satterthwaite run out attempting a third run after an overthrow, leaving them with a strange score of 4/10.

The Stars couldn't find the boundary in response, but ran enough twos to see them level again, scoring 0/10 off their over.

With the scores tied the game went to a count back, seeing the Stars having after hitting more boundaries (9-8) in the game.
