Victorian cricketer Will Sutherland — son of Cricket Australia CEO James — has destroyed New South Wales with a brilliant bowling display at North Sydney Oval today.

Playing just his second game for the Bushrangers, Sutherland took the wickets of three Australian Test players on his way to figures of 4/11 off 5.2 overs with two maidens.

It his third game List A game overall including the cap he got for the Cricket Australia XI in January against the touring Pakistanis, having turned his back on AFL football to pursue a career in cricket.

Sutherland — who is 12 days shy of his 18th birthday — took the wickets of Ryan Gibson, Ed Cowan, Mitchell Starc and Doug Bollinger, bowling all of them bar Cowan, who was caught behind.

The Blues were bowled out for 144 in 42.2 overs, with leg spinner Fawad Ahmed taking 3/24, Chris Tremain 2/48 and Scott Boland 1/34.

Peter Siddle was miserly, conceding just four from his first seven overs and ending with 0/14 from 10 overs with three maidens.

Victoria need to win the match to make the finals, with only the top three going through.

A win will put them level on points with NSW, and if they can get a bonus point they will go ahead of the Blues.
