Steve Smith has taken Piers Morgan down a peg or two, firing back at the outspoken English TV host with a perfectly timed sledge.
The Australian captain had been copping heat from Morgan as soon as things started turning England's way and seemed pretty happy to give as good as he got as soon as the second Test wrapped up on Wednesday afternoon.
Unlike Morgan, though, Smith and vice-captain David Warner tried to keep their trolling private.
"When Aussies sledge you in your DMs," Morgan said, sharing a screenshot of the pair grinning, fresh off their win.
The direct message, which was sent by Warner, came with a simple but effective "How are you mate" caption, with a couple of laughing emojis chucked in for good measure.
"Congrats chaps, you've definitely had the last laugh," Morgan continued.
"PS can you both tread on a ball in the warm-up at Perth? #Ashes."
The journalist has been copping serious heat on social media since his ruthless trolling of Australia started on Tuesday evening, with Aussie cricket fans piling on to point out that his Tweets had "aged about as well as [he] had".
Australia's victory gives them a 2-0 lead as they head to Perth for the third Test at the WACA next Thursday, December 14.
