Barriers Drawn For This Year's Cox Plate

Winx has drawn barrier six out of nine in this year's Cox Plate.

Part-owner Peter Tighe opted for six after the other barriers were taken in a function at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning.

Epsom Handicap winner Happy Clapper will jump from the outside gate, while Seaburge will start from the inside.

Jockey Hugh Bowman said he was happy with the result.

"I'm certainly feeling more comfortable after this morning," Bowman told racing.com.

"But I'm not going to fall into the trap of not having a healthy respect for my rivals. It’s a horse race and anything can happen."

Winx is chasing her third Cox Plate, as well as the record milestone of becoming the first Australian horse to rack up $15 million in prize money, past Makybe Diva's $14.5 million.
