Best Solution has won the $5 million 2018 Caulfield Cup.

The race went right down to the wire between Best Solution and Homesman, with Best Solution just holding on.

The Cliffsfmoher came third.

Irish jockey Pat Cosgrove said he was thrilled after a tough run.

"Anything's possible after today," he said.

"Everything went wrong for me, but great day!"

The race got off to a little bit of a false start when Jon Snow burst the front gate open just before the race began.
