Career Change?

Cheeky, or just plain clever?

Daniel Ricciardo found a way to keep himself and fans amused when rain forced qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix to stop down for an excruciating 2.5 hours on the weekend.

With officials stopping the drivers from hitting the track for safety reasons, Australia's sole driver in Formula 1 hoisted a TV camera onto his shoulder and made a B-line for the Mercedes pit garage.

Like any driver without the fastest car on the grid, Ricciardo used the camera for a close-up look at the one is - Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes that's now leading the world title race.

Thankfully the Merc mechanics saw the funny side and burst out laughing before the Aussie ushered himself out of the garage before being swiftly escorted out by someone higher up.

As for the other drivers, Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen proved he's still a kid at heart as he enjoyed some story time with three-time champion Sir Jackie Stewart.

Felipe Massa kicked a football around with his son and some mechanics in pit lane - yeah, kinda cute.

And Lewis Hamilton honed his PlayStation skills with Merc off-sider Valtteri Bottas - but they didn't play Formula 2017, go figure.

But we can't help think that Ricciardo may have made the best use of the time.

It may have looked like fun and games, but the Aussie's still trying to find a way to win, even when he's not out on the track.

Onya Dan!
