The first of 2017's new breed of Formula One cars has officially broken cover.

Sauber have given the world its first look at the C36 ahead of next week's first pre-season test in Barcelona, Spain.

Built for the new rules, it's got a wider and more detailed front and rear wings which should bring down lap times by as much as 5 seconds at some circuits.

A shark fin is one of the other notable features - something not seen on Formula 1 cars for several seasons.

The blue, white and gold livery commemorates the team's 25 years in the sport.

Swede Marcus Ericsson will again steer for Sauber this year, partnered by Mercedes test driver Pascal Wehrlein.
