Standby... Formula One's most-wanted seat is about to be filled

Expect an announcement on Nico Rosberg's replacement at Mercedes this week.

The German stunned the Formula One world when he announced his retirement shortly after winning the title in Abu Dhabi in November.

The word from the Williams team is that Valtteri Bottas is preparing to move a few garages up the grid to the world champions.

The highly rated Finnish driver's best result in a Grand Prix is 2nd and he's finished on the podium 9 times.

Felipe Massa is expected to come out of his short-lived retirement if and when Mercedes make their decision in the coming days.
