Triple M and the Australian's Brent Read has revealed to the Triple M Dead Set Legends, Corey Oates still has to face a number of tests before being cleared to play in Friday night's Grand Final Qualifier against the Storm.

"Wayne come out after the game and said the doctors have cleared him (Oates) and he'll be right to play," Ready said.

"However he (Wayne Bennett) said tonight, he will be guided by the medical staff and has to pass some tests this week before he takes his place."

Oates was reportedly in good spirits post-game on Friday night, insisting he would be right to play this week.

However, Triple M's Gorden Tallis told Triple M Sunday NRL, Oates should be automatically stood down due to the sickening nature of the collision.

"If this was boxing, he would be out for six weeks, minimum," Tallis said.
