The NRL's newest million-dollar man, Ash Taylor, has insisted returning to the Broncos was never a serious thought.

"I didn't really think about that. It wasn't really an option for me," Taylor said.

"Obviously Wayne (Bennett) wanted me back there, as we saw in the media, but i just don't think that was the best option for me."

Taylor did admit the Titans signing Garth Brennan as the new Head Coach was a big factor in his decision.

"That was a big decision in making my decision, Garth being coach," he said.

"The future's bright here at the club with Garth."

Taylor was being sounded out for a return to Red Hill but opted to stay with the Titans on a deal worth a reported $1 million a season that will keep the young playmaker at the club till at least 2021.
