The Storm have emerged from round nine with a few walking wounded in their squad, with Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Christian Welch both sustaining substantial injuries in the clash with the Dragons.

Unfortunately for Asofa-Solomona, this will cost him a run with the Kiwis squad as he was set to make his test debut on Friday.

A fractured hand will keep Asofa-Solomona on the sideline for three weeks, while Welch will be out for the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the knee.

"That's a huge disappointment for (Welch). He's just starting to find his feet in first grade and he's devastated at the moment," Storm coach Craig Bellamy said.

"That's taken a bit of a gloss off the win tonight. All he can do now is go and get it operated on, get into his rehab and hopefully we'll be right for next year.

"But it's just horrible news for him and for us."
