Australia are the 2017 Rugby League World Cup Champions after a hard-fought 6-0 victory over England.

In a tense and bruising final, a solitary try to NSW Origin captain Boyd Cordner was enough for the Kanagroos to become 11-time World Champions.

Cordner was also named Player of the Final for his try-scoring heroics.

The Kangaroos conceded only a ridiculous 16-points in 480 minutes of rugby league throughout the entire tournament.

Social media was full of praise for both side after an incredible encounter.
