Eels co-captain Beau Scott has announced his retirement from rugby league.

This comes after a season-ending ACL injury, which he sustained earlier in the season.

It's been a long career for Scott, who made his debut in 2005 for Cronulla.

He also spent time at the Dragons and Knights before linking up with Parramatta in 2016.

He has a premiership, NSW Origin and Australian jersey under his belt as well.

“I feel privileged to have played the great game of rugby league professionally for the past fourteen years, and I’m grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have come with it,” he said.

“I would like to thank all of the players, coaches and support staff who I have been associated with throughout my career, and I’d like to acknowledge and thank all the fans and members who have supported me over such a long period.”
