It's been reported that tensions are rising between Kevin Walters and Wayne Bennett regarding plans for the Maroons, with Bennett attempting to block Anthony Milford from going into camp.

According to foxsports.com.au, the plan was to bring Milford in as a shadow player for Johnathan Thurston, pending a decision about whether JT will play in Origin I.

However, Bennett isn't interested in having Milford join the squad as just part of the reserves, and has said he won't let him go into camp unless he's in the 17.

“Just because Queensland can’t make a decision on Thurston, that’s not my problem,” Bennett said.

“If they want to pick Anthony in their 17, that’s fine, he will be with Queensland, but if he’s not, he’s coming to New Zealand with the Broncos.

“We’ve got a big game to play against the Warriors without our Origin guys and I’m not going to release Anthony to socialise for three or four days in (Origin) camp.
