Bill Harrigan has pleaded with the NRL to outlaw the leg lifting tackle that has seen Cameron Smith facing a two-match suspension. 

While Harrigan agree there was no malice intended with the Smith incident, he does believe the leg lifting tackle is becoming an increasing problem in the NRL. 

The former NRL whistleblower, likened it to the already outlawed chicken wing tackle. 

Although Billy's impassioned plea was countered by Gordie Tallis, who argued there is a way for attacking players to not be lifted like the incident during last night's Suncorp Stadium double header.
