It was a remarkable comeback from Billy Slater, who spoke with the Triple M call team post-match about QLD's efforts in clawing back against a dominant NSW side.

However, it ended up being an incredibly raw interview, with Slater getting very emotional during the cross.

When asked about his comeback after two years out of the game and being overlooked for Origin I, Billy broke down.

"Words can't describe it mate," Slater said.

"I didn't think I'd get like this.

"A lot of hard work has been put in, not just by myself but the Storm staff at Melbourne."
