Billy Slater Lost 2 Weeks Of Memory After Soliola's High Hit

It's been revealed Billy Slater was so badly concussed by that high shot from Canberra Raiders' player Sia Soliola that he can't remember more than a fortnight of his life.

Medical reports tabled at last night's NRL Judiciary hearing say Slater can't remember the Storm - Raiders game, or the tackle in question.. in fact, it's claimed he can't remember playing for Queensland in State of Origin III or his ankle injury in the lead up to the decider.

Soliola copped a 5 week ban for the dangerous hit, and afterwards, issued an apology.

"Obviously it's pretty disappointing losing five weeks but I respect and accept the punishment," Soliola said.

"Apologies to everyone who was affected by this, especially Billy and his family, and to the Melbourne Storm as well as our own fans at the Canberra Raiders."

"I know this incident has put a bad light on our game and I really love this game because it has given me so much, so I'm going to do the best I can to try and given all to this game and the good image it's supposed to have."

The suspension is Soliola's first in his 266-game, 13-year NRL and English Super League career.

Soliola claimed it was careless, but not reckless. He told the Judiciary it "would've been very hard" to pull out of the tackle once Slater passed, and at the time he did not believe it to be late.

The three-man panel took just five minutes to agree on a five-week ban, which means Soliola is free to return to the field for the Raiders next clash with the Storm.
